Did you know that you can hand in your old X-rays at Caldense, Rosa and Santa Catarina pharmacies at any time?
Correia Rosa pharmacies have joined forces with AMI and act as collection points for X-rays that are more than five years old or no longer of diagnostic value, all year round. This initiative is part of our mission to actively contribute to the health and well-being of the population: looking after the environment whilst supporting AMI’s charitable programmes.
What are the benefits?
Recycling X-rays prevents them from being sent to landfill, thereby minimising environmental pollution. This reduces the need to extract resources from the natural world and the harmful consequences that this process so often entails, whether through the destruction of natural areas or the exploitation of local communities, often in developing countries.
The silver obtained from recycling has become a very important source of income for AMI’s social work in Portugal, through its 15 facilities and social services spread from the north to the south of the country and across the islands.
What do I need to know?
Please bring your X-rays in a bag without any envelopes, reports or sheets of paper, and hand them over to our staff.
This service is free of charge.
No appointment is necessary. Simply visit any Correia Rosa pharmacy.
