“Hello, my name is Telma Filipa da Silva Rodrigues, and I was born in Caldas da Rainha on August 15, 1981
I have two daughters, Alice and Madalena, who are now 11 years old.
I currently live in Painho, in the municipality of Cadaval, but throughout my life I’ve lived all over Portugal, including on the islands—I spent 10 years on the island of Madeira, from which I’ve just returned! This experience in Madeira was life-changing and helped me grow both personally and professionally.
When I chose to study Pharmaceutical Sciences, which I did in Coimbra, I didn’t see myself working in a community pharmacy, and in fact, half of my professional career has been spent outside the pharmacy, in business management.
To develop my skills in this field, I earned an MBA from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Coimbra. I worked in management for 10 years. But since I’d always had a passion for pharmacy, I tried working in a community pharmacy in Madeira, enjoyed it, and have continued working in this field ever since.
I accepted the invitation from Correia Rosa Pharmacies because I identify with the project and with the way they approach the pharmacy business today. I’m certain that every day will be a challenge in meeting the needs of today’s customers—who are increasingly well-informed and demanding—and that I’ll always have new projects to take on. That’s my conviction.
In my free time, I like to go to the beach, go to the movies, and watch a good TV series. I also like to cook, sleep, and just sit quietly, doing nothing, while listening to some good music.”

If you could solve one problem in the world, which one would you choose and why?
If I could solve one problem in the world, it would be the lack of drinking water. Thousands of people around the world, particularly children, die from drinking contaminated water.
A book that made a lasting impression on you?
A book that left a lasting impression on me... "The Diary of Anne Frank"
A song that inspires you?
Has any experience in a pharmacy setting helped you become a better professional?
An experience in a pharmacy setting that made me a better professional… looking after Mrs Rita and her son Vítor, and supporting them both for around four years. Mrs Rita suffered from severe depression and her son from schizophrenia. Both were admitted to healthcare facilities in Madeira on several occasions. Despite all her financial difficulties, Mrs Rita never failed to provide her son with his medication, and I was committed to always ensuring Vítor received his injection. When the lockdown began, they became very isolated, and I even spoke to the social worker who was supporting them because we needed to ensure they were eating and taking their medication! Whenever she came to the pharmacy, I would try to check whether she was taking her medication, as she seemed increasingly unwell. But life is made up of moments, and from one moment to the next we are nothing… and Vítor suffered a heart attack and died aged around 30… Mrs Rita was left all alone. This experience changed me as a professional and as a person! Despite all her limitations, Mrs Rita was an exemplary mother. It was hard to see it end this way, and even today I remember them with sadness!

An experience in my life that left a lasting impression on me… the 10 years I spent working at Sonae! They were the best 10 years of my working life!
